Listen on the show page here, or on the call in number of 646-378-1086, or via the widget player below:
Emotional Intelligence has been defined as the dimension of intelligence responsible for our ability to manage ourselves and our relationships with others. Emotional Intelligence, or EQ for short, has been shown by many studies to be an important differentiator in personal and organizational performance.
Beyond the practical and straightforward measures of technical skills and ability, EQ examines one's awareness and control of emotion, empathy for others, social expertise and capability for creating and sustaining personal relationships, personal influence, and integrity.
EQ can be critical for the development of successful leaders, accurately assessing candidates in the hiring process, and encouraging and realizing superior levels of organizational achievement.
Why does EQ matter? Can a better understanding of EQ in yourself and others make you a better leader, follower, parent, or person? How does EQ impact work? To try and answer these questions we will be joined by our guest Adele Lynn, of the Lynn Leadership Group.
Ms. Lynn has had a distinguished career as an organizational consultant and author, having published six books on Emotional Intelligence, including here latest work, The EQ Interview, Finding Employees with High Emotional Intelligence.
I hope you can join us for what should be an interesting show as we look at EQ, and examine why and how EQ should be important to you, and to your organization.
