HR Happy Hour - Episode 49 - 'The Why of Work'

Thursday June 10, 2010  8PM EDT

Call in 646-378-1086

The HR Happy Hour show is excited to welcome Professor and author Dave Ulrich to talk about 'The Why of Work', Dave's latest book that he co-authored with Wendy Ulrich.

Work can and should be more than simply a place we go, do our time, collect a paycheck, and go home.  It should be a place that challenges, motivates, and inspires.  A place where we find and create meaning, where we connect with and are supported by our leaders and colleagues to elevate 'work' to something more important and lasting than in the past.

We will talk with Dave about the major themes and ideas of 'The Why of Work', how to create more abundant organizations, how to connect people with jobs that they will find more fulfilling, how organizations can and should seek to become 'meaning making' as well as money making enterprises, and some of the practical and actionable strategies leaders and organizations can employ to become more abundant, and more successful in their markets and communities.

I hope you can join us this week for what should be an interesting and informative show.
