Off Topic - Urban Beekeeping
The coolest thing I saw on the internet this week was this short film from the Made By Hand project called 'The Beekeeper', a profile of Megan Paska, a Brooklyn, NY based local farmer and beekeeper. The short (less than 6 minutes) piece is a testament to not only the increasing focus on sustainable and accessible farming practices, but also a bit of an inspiring reminder of how great it is to find and be able to do the kind of work that you love.
Give it a look and let me know what you think! (email and RSS subscribers will need to click through)
You can learn more about the Made By Hand series at their website and also follow them on Twitter.
Have a Great Weekend!

Steve,
Thanks for sharing, great video! I think we all need reminders about the importance of finding and doing meaningful work that we're passionate about. One of the things I love the most about HR is having the opportunity to help match candidates both internally and externally with opportunities that feed their passions.
I'm also a huge fan of sustainable farming. My wife and I are supporters of a local CSA here in Cleveland and do some growing ourselves. One of my close friends has a set-up that is about as urban gardening as you can get packed with chickens, bee's and several garden beds. His neighbors probably think he's crazy but the guy's excitement for this stuff is infectious. He swears by the urban bees claiming the clover that comes with folks in the city not cutting their grass makes for the best honey that money can buy. I've had the Mead he makes and I won't be arguing with his point. Let me know if you come through C-town and I'll get you hooked up with some of that Urban Mead....
Thanks John - I have read a little about how Cleveland is really ahead of most places when it comes to urban farming and growing. Very cool.
