HR Happy Hour #225 - Kronos and Workforce Management

    Hosts: Steve BoeseTrish McFarlane

Guests: Jim Kizielewicz, Chief Marketing Office, Kronos

    Recorded Monday November 16, 2015

    LISTEN HERE

This week on the HR Happy Hour Show while Trish was off keynoting an HR conference in Dubai (fun!), Steve attended Kronos Works 2015, the annual customer and user conference for Kronos, a leading provider of workforce management technologies.

Chances are pretty good that at some time in your career you have interacted with Kronos' workforce management technologies - as their solutions for time and attendance, workforce scheduling, absence management and more have been implemented by tens of thousands of organizations worldwide.

At Kronos Works, Steve sat down with Kronos' CMO, Jim Kizielewicz (who also has about 7 other big jobs at Kronos, you can listen for more details), about some of the most important topics affecting workforce management today. Kronos, since it touches thousands of organizations and millions of employees (most of them hourly workers), each day is in a unique position to help shape the dynamic and conversation around the workforce and the increasingly importance of scheduling to employee engagement and organizational performance. We also talked about the continued move to the cloud and how it benefits HR organizations and leaders.

PODCAST - #HRHappyHour 224 - iCIMS and Talent Acquisition Technology

HR Happy Hour #224 - iCIMS and Talent Acquisition Technology

    Hosts: Steve BoeseTrish McFarlane

Guests: Madeline Laurano, Colin Day, Adam Feigenbaum

    Recorded Wednesday November 4, 2015

    LISTEN HERE

This week on the show, HR Happy Hour hosts Steve Boese and Trish McFarlane were at the recent iCIMS Analyst Day in San Diego, where they sat down with fellow analyst and official 'Friend of the HR Happy Hour' Madeline Laurano in Part 1 of the show, to talk about trends in HR and recruiting technology, and followed by a conversation with iCIMS CEO Colin Day, and COO Adam Feigenbaum about the state of the Applicant Tracking System, and the broader market for Talent Acquisition technology.

You can listen to the show on the show page HERE, or by using the widget player below, (Email and RSS subscribers will need to click through).

iCIMS has developed a substantial list of customers for its talent acquisition technology suite, and has made a commitment to talent acquisition as its primary focus - sort of unique among large, established HR tech companies, many of which are or have been pushing to develop or acquire additional or adjacent capabilities.

iCIMS has made a big bet that customers will understand and value what a provider solely focused on Talent Acquisition can offer, and on the show you can hear direct from iCIMS execs on why they have elected to stick with their core competency and how that benefits their customers.

This was a really interesting and fun event. Thanks to iCIMS for having myself and Trish out at the event, and also thanks to Madeline, Colin, and Adam for taking the time to be a part of the HR Happy Hour Show.

And don't forget the HR Happy Hour Show is available on iTunes, and on all the major podcast player apps for iOS and Android - just search for 'HR Happy Hour' to find and subscribe to the show and you will never miss a new episode.

    Guest: Mollie Lombardi

    LISTEN HERE

Hosts Trish McFarlane and Steve Boese recorded this episode LIVE at the ADP Analyst Day in New York City. They were thrilled to have Mollie Lombardi as their guest to talk about her project....HR Gives Back.  HR Gives Back to a Future without Parkinson’s is an idea started by Mollie Lombardi, Mike Pauletich, Teresa Thieme and Jeanne Achille. It is a way to help raise money and awareness for the fight against Parkinson's Disease.  It will live on as a way for HR to give back to other charitable organizations in the future.

This year Mollie and her friend Mike are competing in a fundraising effort leading up to the HR Technology Conference October 18- 21 in Las Vegas.  There are some fun ways to get involved in raising money and awareness and we encourage you to learn more at www.hrgivesback.net.

October 21, 2015 marks the day that famous DeLorean landed in the future. It also marks the last day of the 18th annual HR Technology Conference and Expo. What better time to help HR give “Back to a Future” without Parkinson’s than a fundraiser supporting The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF).  Join members of the HR technology community in a virtual marathon October 1-21, raising funds and running or walking 26.2 miles over 21 days to support the cause, and at the HR Technology Conference Oct. 18-21 for an onsite challenge sponsored by FitBit.

This was a fun and really interesting conversation with one of the leaders helping to shape the modern workplace and in many ways the new paradigms that organizations will operate within as they strive to describe their unique company culture and their value proposition to the next generation of the workforce.

We definitely recommend that HR and Talent Acquisition leaders take a look the The Muse to get a look at what many forward-thinking organizations are doing in their efforts to promote their companies and brands and to connect with their next great hire.
